After the third series of the 2024 season at CoTA, HRC has not yet determined their driver line-up for 2025 where several drivers such as Joan Mir terminate their contracts at the end of this season. Rumor information that emerged after Austin was that Honda wanted to recruit Maverick Vinales for next season. This flap-wing brand will bid to the winner of Austin to use the RC213V to lead the Japanese Manufacturer’s new project.

Austin paddock rumors suggest that Honda will make a multi-million dollar offer to Vinales, one that will be hard to refuse. Journalist Lluis Zuniga in his broadcast mentioned the numbers. Specifically, Honda is rumored to be planning to submit a proposal of more than 10 million euros per year to Maverick which would make Vinales one of the highest paid racers in MotoGP. . Maybe second highest. If it’s true, Quartararo’s salary will be 12 million euros per year in 2025.

Let’s remember that Vinales’ contract with Aprilia expires at the end of this season, and it is very possible that the Noale brand will want him to stay, not only because of his good start to the season but also because he is a rider that the team, and especially Massimo Rivola, has a lot of confidence in.

Logically, the racer who will be replaced by the Bat-Mav is Joan Mir, who in theory is the only one who will end his contract with Honda at the end of the season. Thus, Vinales will be in pole position in terms of potential to ride a Honda starting next season.

The big question is whether Honda’s offer will be tempting enough for Vinales to leave Aprilia, who seems to be starting to find their fast development rhythm. If this rumor is true, then Maverick will be faced with two choices which are allegedly important choices in his racing career.

We’ll see if Vinales accepts the challenge of returning Honda to the top of MotoGP and puts aside the project that has already started running at Aprilia. . .
