One more confirmation has arrived for the regular MotoGP racer line-up after 2024. Alex Marquez officially extended his contract as a racer at Gresini Racing with a contract duration of 2 years which means Marc Marquez’s younger brother will remain at Gresini Racing until the end of the 1,000 cc MotoGP era in 2026.
Alex Marquez : “Continuing at Gresini is my main goal. Since I entered this reality, my goal has been to consistently approach my best, and that is something I have yet to achieve. The start of the season hasn’t been what we expected, but the team is strong and I know where we can go. So just say thank you to Nadia for her trust and I’m sure we’ll repay her with a celebratory pineapple pizza soon.”
In general, after this confirmation, there are 3 satellite Ducati racer positions that have not been confirmed. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is expected to do its best to retain Fabio Digiannantonio, who is reportedly being targeted to join the Pramac Yamaha team formation next year. Meanwhile, Franco Morbidelli will probably also race for his family team, VR46 Racing, taking the position left by Bezzecchi to Aprilia.
If the scenario is like this, maybe Fermin Aldeguer will join Gresini Racing, taking the position left by Marc. The interesting question then is who will the GP25 unit slot in the Ducati satellite team for the 2025 season belong to?
