Finally, a few hours ago, MotoGP confirmed that the 2024 Indian MotoGP event was postponed until 2025, which means that the MotoGP event in that country is canceled this year. However, the Kazakhstan MotoGP was not cancelled, after being postponed, Dorna finally confirmed that the event at the Sokol – Kazakhstan circuit would still be held in 2024.
The Indian MotoGP will not be in the 2024 season due to operational considerations. Following advice from the Uttar Pradesh Government as the state continues its long-term commitment to MotoGP, the sport will return to the Buddh International Circuit in March 2025, when weather conditions are expected to be optimal for spectators and riders.
After that the FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports announced a new date for the 2024 Kazakhstan Grand Prix which was postponed following the floods that hit the entire region. The inaugural Kazakhstan GP is planned to take place from 20 to 22 September 2024 as the first race on the 2024 Asian Round MotoGP calendar before the Mandalika – Indonesia Round.
