Last Sunday’s GP race held at the iconic Jerez track was, without a doubt, the best throughout the first 4 series of the year. There were lots of exciting stunts, unexpected maneuvers that were beyond reason and above all there were some controversial moments that sparked the anger of some competitors. . . For example, since Saturday when the Stewards Panel did not give any penalty to Binder who ‘cut’ Pecco from inside and also in the main race when Johann Zarco was brought down by Aleix Espargaro’s maneuver. Regarding this, it turned out that Johann was angry with the Stewards panel, especially Freddie Spencer.
Johann Zarco being hit by Aleix Espargaró on lap 10 was easily declared an ordinary racing incident. Meanwhile, Jack Miller couldn’t resist arguing with Franco Morbidelli. The Pramac rider caused the Australian to crash with eight laps remaining in the race because Frankie made a risky maneuver that brought Miller into the Gravel-Trap.
But what was most interesting after that incident was Zarco’s brutal comments to the media. The LCR racer, who was involved in a fight at the start of the race with Pedro Acosta, was very angry with the Stewards Panel’s decision not to give sanctions for the crash maneuver experienced by Aleix which took him to Gravel.
“I went to Race Direction and Freddie Spencer watched the action with us. And it seemed like he was looking at me as if he wanted to know what I wanted. He wanted me to complain about Aleix. I told him I wasn’t going. to complain, but I also told him that he is not suitable for this job because he does not make the right decisions at the right time.
” So I told him: ‘Don’t ask me what you should do.’ He looked at us as if we were two children who should be taught a lesson in morality. But I told him: ‘No, Freddie, maybe you’re very passionate, but you’re not making the right decisions,’
“I said to Freddy, ‘I don’t like you anyway, so you did your job and you made a mistake. What do you expect from me?’ It was ridiculous and then they kicked me out because they said I was getting angry.
“We have to learn to be a little more careful. Sometimes this helps you understand a particular incident because we can’t always blame all the elements around us when we deviate from the track in dry weather. ” added the LCR racer
“I told Spencer he was incompetent, because he was not in a position to evaluate. Things had to change, because Binder’s actions during the Sprint should have been sanctioned. Pecco lifted his bike and hit Bezzecchi. When in a group of three people. ” emphasized the racer from Nice while giving an example of what happened in the Sprint with Binder’s action which knocked Bagnaia out.
Meanwhile, Aleix Espargaro told what the hearing meeting with the Commissioners was like. “Zarco is a little nervous about Race Direction. They had to take him away. But not because of my actions. He understood that I fell and… my motorbike hit his back tire but… yeah, he was a little nervous.”
