Officially, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. today announced their multi-year agreement with Prima Pramac Racing Prima Pramac Racing will see two additional Factory Yamaha YZR-M1s on the MotoGP grid from 2025 onwards. Prima Pramac Racing’s Prima Pramac Racing status next year will be similar to tech3 with KTM, namely as an independently owned Factory Team.

The new second Yamaha Factory Team will remain independently owned and maintain their base in Rugby (England). The 2025 Prima Pramac Racing driver line-up will be announced in due course.

Lin Jarvis : ” These are busy times for Yamaha, both on the track and behind the scenes. Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (YMC) and Yamaha Motor Racing (YMR) it is no secret that they put all their efforts into motorbike development.

” Now we enter the next phase – the phase we have been waiting for for a long time: the arrival of the second Yamaha team. New partnership with Prima Pramac Racing Prima Pramac Racing will take a different form to what we have done before.

” Rather than a satellite team, with this new agreement Yamaha have placed their trust in Pramac Racing, and we will provide them with Factory bikes with the same specifications as those used by the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team.

” The target is to accelerate motorbike development, which remains YMC and YMR’s top priority in our efforts to return to winning ways, as well as having four competitive riders in the MotoGP championship in two top-class teams.

” In addition to the MotoGP program, our collaboration also includes a future Moto2 project that provides a platform to educate future MotoGP riders. It is too early to provide details about this program at this time as it will be developed over the next few months.

” I would like to express personal appreciation and thanks to Paolo Campinoti, CEO of Pramac, and Gino Borsoi, Team Manager of Prima Pramac Racing Prima Pramac Racing, for their confidence and trust in Yamaha. We have great respect for their team, and we assure them of our full commitment to making this new partnership a success for the years to come.”

By doubling Yamaha’s current presence on the MotoGP grid next year, Yamaha aims to make a strong statement regarding their intention to return to winning ways in the near future.
