After the VR46 Racing Team, which for months has been thought to be strong enough to become a Yamaha Satellite team in the 2025 season, especially due to Valentino Rossi’s status as Brand Ambassador for this brand, however, in the end, in the third series of the 2024 American MotoGP, it is Pramac Team who has the potential. become a Yamaha satellite team in the future after an interesting update that recently occurred with the VR46 Racing Team.

Informed via Sky Italia, looking to the future, starting in 2027 Ducati’s closest partner seems destined to be Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Team, which is reported to have ultimately rejected Yamaha’s offer. This caused surprise and disappointment on Yamaha’s part, especially from Lin Jarvis and Yamaha’s leaders in Japan, where generally they did not expect the choice of VR46.

Regarding the future and the Domino effect that occurred after the rumors of VR46’s rejection, many people have opened up. Yamaha itself is still very confident that they will get a satellite team in the next season and Lin Jarvis said that Yamaha still has time to reach the dead line for this decision, namely at us around Mugello 2024 (31 May-2 June 2024).

“There is no onerous deadline,” said Lin Jarvis. “It is not stipulated in the rules, nothing is certain yet. “But I think the latest [update] is [coming to] Mugello. Before Mugello, everything must be in order. The only hard deadline you have is planning for the future, when you make the investment.

“We have stated before, clearly our intention to have four more bikes on the grid in the shortest possible timeframe. It’s not just about being competitive in each individual race weekend by having more bikes on the grid and more data. But it also has the same data to help develop the bike.

“Having two [motorbikes] is definitely a disadvantage, so we are working on that. There was a lot of discussion going on. It’s confidential. So I can’t tell you about that. The only thing I can say is: our plan remains the same. We are optimistic that we will be successful in getting satellite teams, second teams and independent teams on the network as quickly as possible. But you will have to wait longer, and so will we.”

What is the future of the Prima Pramac team in the midst of the fact that a reduction in the Satellite Team package is underway, where it is possible that in the future the Ducati Satellite Team will have two different motorbike packages. For example, the 2025 season will have GP25 and GP24.

Community Verified iconThere are currently two possible scenarios for the Prima Pramac Team, the first scenario ensures two more years with Ducati, with one or two factory motorbikes. Second scenario: Pramac becomes a Yamaha satellite team starting in 2025. There will be many conveniences that Yamaha will offer, such as additional discounts/discounts on factory motorbike rental fees in addition to a number of subsidies that will be obtained from Dorna. And one more . . . Also financing the salaries of top racers (Yamaha Yamaha Racing) which could be chosen by Bastianini, or even at the level of Andrea Iannone who is rumored to be returning to MotoGP.
