Aleix Espargaro would be happy if Marc Marquez moved to Aprilia

Aleix Espargaró announced his retirement at the weekend of the 2024 Catalunya GP. The Aprilia racer will not continue racing in MotoGP in 2025. By confirming that he will not race as a full-time racer, he opened the door to becoming a test rider. Something he didn’t want to give some hints about yet.

“The only thing I can tell you is yes, I will be a test rider, that’s for sure, but there will be time to see,” Aleix joked into DAZN’s microphone. “It’s important for anyone coming to Aprilia to be hungry, eager to take on the world. Since we spoke about Marc, the hunger has been brutal, with what he has won.”

“Jorge (Martin) is like my brother or son. He eats at home with my children. I am always up-to-date, I try to help him as much as I can. “I don’t know how it will end, but my opinion is that Jorge, for everything he has done at a sporting level, deserves a Factory Ducati,” commented the Aprilia rider ahead of the Mugello GP.

“And with Marc’s rejection of Pramac, which you just told me because I didn’t know about it. I hope it is good news for him to come here. “I don’t know if I will see him at Aprilia, but I would love to,” continued Aleix.

“If you ask me, I would love it. You will find good Tools, good motorbikes, so we welcome you here Marc. For 2025, a Maverick-Marc team, no joke. That would be a great team. Imagine for me, that I retire from Aprilia, that the best rider or one of the best riders in history riding my bike would be very impressive ” Close Aleix
