As we all know, one of the most relevant components that Fabio Quartararo will actually test in Portimao after the race weekend is the new engine specifications. Menin This is thought to be a different specification from the one they have been using, but with a four-cylinder in-line configuration which is Yamaha’s trademark. A V4, however, is not yet in the Japanese factory’s plans, at least in the short term.

However, bad weather in the Algarve region on Monday, especially strong winds, prevented Quartararo and Rins from completing the planned program. Quartararo was only able to cover six laps, the same as Rins. Under these conditions, Yamaha technicians chose not to install a new engine on Quartararo’s motorbike, and left the evaluation for later. And it is rumored that this engine was even included in the allocation of new engines at the Austin Texas Race weekend.

One of the aspects that has hampered Yamaha the most in recent years has been the lack of power from its motorcycles’ Inline 4 engines. In fact, in this case, the services of Marmotors, the consulting firm of Luca Marmorini, a renowned mechanical specialist engineer, famous for his time at Ferrari and Toyota, in Formula 1, and Aprilia, were employed by Yamaha and the new engine which is rumored to be prepared in Austin is the latest engine results glance at this MarMotor.

We will be able to see and confirm the truth of this rumor around Sunday when Dorna announces the list of engine usage up to the third series to journalists.
