The selection of a crew from the team is something we are also waiting for after the announcement of Marc Marquez being selected by Ducati Corse to accompany Pecco Bagnaia in the 2025 Lenovo Ducati factory team. Marc Marquez himself, as you can read in the previous TMCBlog article, said that he only asked for 1 crew to be with him on the red team later is Javi Ortiz. While the rest included track engineers or crew chiefs, Marc handed over and entrusted Ducati Corse to organize it himself.
The decision is that Frankie Charcedi will not accompany Marc in 2025. Ducati Corse has chosen the crew chief who is currently looking after Enea Bastianini, namely Marco Rigamonti, to join Marc Marquez next year in the factory team. Rigamonti himself is an engineer who previously worked with Andrea Iannone at Suzuki & Ducati, Johann Zarco at Pramac until finally with Bastianini.
“Ducati officials will be the first to be interested in putting the people they feel most comfortable with next to me, to ensure that my performance is the best,” explained Márquez at the Assen weekend. Ducati has told Rigamonti what his new duties will be after Márquez takes the role as official racer, perhaps Rogamnti’s first assignment with Marc will be at the Valencia test, next November.
This information is also sure to end the voices that raised the possibility that Marc Marquez could reunite with Santi Hernández, who was his technical manager in seven of the eight world titles he has won. Santi will most likely continue to be at Joan Mir’s side in the official Honda factory team garage, who will no longer be with Repsol next year.
