Marc Marquez started again from pole position in the 2024 Jerez MotoGP race which was held on a dry track with a surface temperature reaching 40 °C. Generally, racers in this 25 lap long race session use a combination of medium – medium slick tires, according to Michelin’s predictions. Marc Marquez did another fast lap where he took the holeshot – just right – when Martin was very close to the back of his GP-23.
However, Martin had to settle for second place when Bezzecchi and Bagnaia finished third and fourth after him. Fourth place was not enough for Pecco, who even in the early stages, made Magic moves!! performed very confident and excellent late braking from the outside on one of the toughest corners at Jerez T6.
At the last corner on the same lap, Marquez went wide and opened the door for Bagnaia to cut in to take the lead. But at Turn 1 Marc headed inside again, both were slightly wide, and Martin tried to take the opportunity. Bagnaia is back in the lead, but now with Martin behind him and Marquez relegated to third place.
At the last corner on the next lap everything changed again where Bezzecchi managed to pass Marquez at the last corner, and then a big drama took place for the title. With Bagnaia right behind him but potentially big points up for grabs, Martin then suddenly lost grip on his front tire and slid off the track while leading the race.
Martin is fine, but leaving his main rival Bagnaia to lead Bezzecchi and Marquez in the chase for another 25 points, and this will clearly leave him ‘heartbroken’. But the race continues. Bagnaia took the lead as the tension mounted, with Marc gradually getting closer to Bezzecchi at the front and managing to get past Bezz to then set off in pursuit of Bagnaia. The duel began to take shape.
The gap between Pecco and Marc was initially around one second, but with less than ten laps remaining in the race, Pace Marquez was already 0.3 seconds faster. Bagnaia responded by setting a fast lap time, and then Marquez also responded with the same action. . Lu Jua, I bought The first episode happened, with the two not yet sharing the same trajectory. and this increased the distance between Marc and Bezzecchi.
With five laps remaining, Marc’s first mission to get closer to Pecco was successful. The Gresini rider was almost stuck to the rear tire of the Ducati Lenovo machine, and he didn’t stalk his prey for long.
Marquez chased Pecco at Turn 9, but Bagnaia immediately responded at Turn 10 when the two collided and jostled across the racing line.
Marc had the lead but when Bagnaia advanced at the next apex, Marquez had no choice but to hold back. One round later, we get another show. This time Marquez instead divebombed, and the door to cutting was left a little more open. Bagnaia did not need a second invitation, taking the lead again by directly breaking through this door.
Both are at the Limit, the crowd is standing. Two laps to go, 0.4 seconds apart, two riders, one win. Pecco hits the hammer trying to escape. . Marc returned in installments to get closer to Pecco centimeter by centimeter. But the asphalt remaining for the race at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto disappeared in meters and kilometers, not centimeters, and Bagnaia held on strong. The last chance for Marquez to create his final chance was Lorenzo’s turn 13 but he wasn’t close enough. So Bagnaia finished this Clash of Titan with a win.
It was clearly a big win for Pecco Bagnaia after a tough campaign – and it leaves him just 17 points behind Martin in the Championship. Second overall after his second GP win of the season. Marquez achieved his first podium in dry weather since 2022.
