The 2024 Indian MotoGP event was initially set before the Indonesian Grand Prix in Mandalika. However, in recent months, information from autosport has expressed uncertainty regarding the second year of the Indian Grand Prix due to financial problems where promoter Fairstreet Sports has not paid its dues to certain vendors, including Dorna.
This causes the 2024 Indian MotoGP to be threatened with failure, where in general we have to wait for an official announcement which will probably only be announced after May 20 after the payment due date. Instead, it is estimated that MotoGP will appoint the Kazakhstan Grand Prix to be held on 20-22 September 2024, where previously we already knew that the Kazakhstan GP in Sokol had been postponed from its original date in June 2024 due to flooding in the area.
The 2024 MotoGP season initially had the potential to break the calendar record of 22 rounds, but the cancellation of the Argentina GP and now the potential loss of the India race has seen the number drop back to 20.
