Pedro Acosta was one of the first racers to confirm his place of racing for the 2025 season, where he will team up with Brad Binder at the factory Red Bull KTM team. He has made his 7 series debut and it could be said that – despite his status as a rookie – he is the most important Pierer Mobility Group racer at the moment. Acosta also gave a brief recap of his MotoGP debut, including several times he was able to fight with Marc Marquez.
“Before I committed and signed with Tech3, I had a conversation with Nicolas Goyon. Of course, when you’re away from a team, you don’t know what’s going on there. So when you hear negative comments, you have to wonder.” That’s how Acosta talked about the background of his debut.
“But I quickly calmed down, I knew the bike would perform even better this year, Pierer Mobility assured us that we would get maintenance from the official team and I would have the best technicians around me. That’s why I’m so happy to be where I am now,
“The team helped me a lot to adapt. (Paul) Trevathan, my boss, has been involved with KTM since the beginning. He knows this motorbike by heart, he knows how to ride it to get maximum results. It’s very easy to go to MotoGP when you have people like that by your side.”
Then regarding the several times he especially managed to struggle with Marc Marquez, Acosta gave his opinion; “Against Marc Marquez?, but I’m not at his level yet. I need time, I still need hours on my motorbike to do what he does and know what he knows. This bike has no secrets for him, he knows how to use it in all situations and knows how to win the fight when the time comes.”
