Enea Bastianini, a 26 year old racer from Rimini, is strongly suspected to be undertaking his fifth season in the MotoGP category in 2025 with a very different motorbike compared to the one he used in the first 4 years of his MotoGP career where he has achieved a total of five wins, 24 podiums, and nine pole positions in the meantime. His best year so far was 2022, where he finished third, after briefly threatening title contenders Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo, until the end of the season. . In the 2025 season, it is very likely that he will close a deal with Pierer Mobility Group for a placement with Herve Poncharal’s Tech3 team.
Bastianini is expected to announce in the coming days where he will go, reports Sky Italia “Enea will ride a factory KTM, identical to that of the factory team. It could even be KTM – there are plans to abandon the GASGAS brand.” That’s what his manager Carlo Pernat confirmed to Radio R1 Italia.
In general, the Tech3 team also has motorbikes with the same latest engine specifications as the Red Bull KTM factory team racer motorbikes. So, although Bastianini would theoretically move to Tech3’s satellite project, he would benefit from the same package and support as Acosta and Binder at the 2025 KTM Red Bull.
If he ends up at Tech3, it is still unclear who will team up with Bastianini next year. Pedro Acosta’s contract extension, announced last weekend, during the Italian Grand Prix, will promote the Murcian racer to the factory team, along with Brad Binder, who has a contract with the Austrian manufacturer until the end of 2026. Augusto Fernandez looks very much in the driver’s seat. Maybe Mattighofen will look back on a year of Jack Miller by placing him on Team Tech3.
